Having fun at Mitchell's Soccer Game

I think this picture is so priceless!

Sadie was loving playing with Grandma's string on her jacket!

Grandpa loves to tickle Sadie!

After a tough game Mitchell still had time to pose for a picture.

Austin is so cute and helpful with Abbie. He played with her on the playground almost the whole time. She loves to play with Austin on the slide.

Abbie Shaving!

I was in the kitchen the other morning and Abbie walked in and told me she was shaving! She has shaving cream above her eyebrow, in her hairline and on her cheak! I guess that Abbie wants to shave when Trevor is shaving his face. Apparently, Trevor puts shaving cream on her face for her quite often! It was so cute that I did not wipe it off. I hurried and had to get my camera!

One down 5 to go!!!

Sadly, one of the Tripos died this morning!!! I am so devistated that I do not know what to do. I can't wait to start a whole new family of Triops.

If you really believe that I am devistated by one dying you are sadly mistaken. I wish the whole lot of them would die! I hope that is not being too cruel. I am pretty tired of taking care of pets. These are so freaky looking and disgusting! These are better pictures than the one of my blog a few days ago.

Sadie's new adventures!

Today is August 26 and Sadie's first tooth finally broke through!!! She has been suffering through that one for a few weeks now. Over the past two and a half weeks Sadie has learned many new and fun things! She has learned to crawl and climb up on things so she is standing. While teething she was in so much pain she would not drink any bottle for over 48 hours. So I decided that since she did not want the bottle that we would stop bottles completely! It is so nice to have bottles and formula gone!!!

Sadie is learning that it is OK if someone besides Mom holds her!

She absolutely loves to be able to crawl to what she wants!

She is so much happier being a bit more independent!

Now she is trying to figure out how to get what she wants even if Sally has it!

It is amazing how much difference in size they all are. Sally and Lincoln are only 10 weeks older than Sadie!

Austin at Pack Meeting

Austin is three weeks away from turning 10 years old and being a Webelo! Doesn't he look thrilled to have his picture taken? I can't believe how grown up he is!

The Invasion of the Triops!

Well, this is the best picture I could get of these things! They swim around so fast. This is a wonderful gift from Grandma Tate for Mitchell's birthday in February. We have six pet Tripos! They are so ugly and creepy looking. They do backflips and also can swim upside down so you can see their creepy face and mouth. Cleaning their cage is a disgusting and long process. Don't you wish you had some?

Abbie's First Day of Pretty School!

Abbie was so excited to start Preschool "Pretty School" on August 18! "It has a red door!!!" says Abbie.

LaDawn Harms is her teacher. This is a building just off her house and the barn next door is being turned into another classroom!

I can't believe she is already in school. She also started toilet training two weeks ago. She is growing up so fast! Three days a week and for two hours a day, just Sadie and I. It is so quiet around the house at those times!

Doesn't she look just thrilled?!?

When we got there she fell down and skinned her knee. She was a little bit worried about it.

There is a snack at the end of class each day. Abbie loved it so much that she had to lick out every little bit of frosting!

Hard at work in the garden!

This is our yearly garden. Austin and Mitchell planted all of the seeds and planted the tomato plants.

They both also weed the garden each week. They are such wonderful helpers!

Sadie and Abbie in the Tub

Abbie kept trying to kiss Sadie, however, Sadie does n0t like baths so she wanted to be left alone. Abbie loves Sadie so much.

As you can see, by Sadie's red eyes and her expression, Sadie is not enjoying this experience very much. She just wants to be done with it!

I can't believe Sadie is almost one year old!

Abbie LOVES baths. She would love to bathe all day long. Her bath times just are not long enough for her satisfaction.

Sadie Anne - 10 months old

I can't believe how fast Sadie is growing up! She is 10 months old. I am just understanding how much help Mitchell and Austin can be with her. I guess I am overly cautious with her. They help out with her so well. I want to teach them how to change diapers. This is a classic picture of Sadie since she is sucking her thumb. Ohhh, she loves her thumb. She found it at about 4 months old and has slept through the night since then. She has always hated binki's, so I am grateful she has her thumb. The only challenge will be to get her to stop sucking it around 1 year old. It is easy to get rid of a binki, but not a thumb!

The boys are always wanting to hold Sadie. However, as soon as I hand her to anyone she looks at me and starts to cry. She is definately a "momma's girl"! I love cuddling and holding her, however, it would be so nice to let someone else hold her for a while. Since she loves being held all the time she still is not crawling! She is now pulling her knees up under her and on all fours while rocking back and forth. I do not think it will be much longer until she is crawling! I am kind of glad she is not crawling all over the house yet! She loves to hold on to things and stand up. One of my favorite things that Sadie does is she "trills" with her tongue. At least that is what someone once called it.

Lake Powell - July 2008

After the long drive and sleeping in the trailer we finally get to hit the lake! We are all so excited to be at Lake Powell. I decided that I was going to leave the girls home since Sadie is only 10 months old. Since I already was paying a babysitter I decided to leave Abbie home also. Since Trevor had to work this was a wonderful trip to spend with Mitchell and Austin!

Jonathan was such a trooper! He stayed in the water and helped all the boys learn to waterski. We eventually tied a bouy on his lifejacket so boats would see him in the water. Thank you Jonathan. We were at Halls Marina and MacKay decided to get a closer look at the carp. He was looking so closely that he decided to go swimming (fell in) with about 100 carp. I sure wish I had a picture of that!

This is one amazing woman! Mom is 64 years old and she still loves to waterski! She is such a wonderful skiier. I love her grace and her noseplugs!

Since dad had his hip replacement he can no longer waterski! Since the airchair (or SkySki) has you sitting and you are strapped in tight he can airchair. Of course he got up on his first tries! We watched a video of how to do this and the next day dad went through all the steps (plane, foil, jump, etc...). However, he did all the steps in about 10 seconds and then crashed! I tried this and it is so hard. You get up and automatically sky high and then nose dive and crash!

Mitchell and Tanner were amazing on this trip. They were outgoing, fun, and so brave. They could not get enough s-turns and donuts on the Molecule. I can not believe they are getting so much older and they will start the 6th grade this year! They are growing up too fast for me!

Tanner made this trip so much fun!
Mitchell is hanging on for dear life!

Austin is so cool!!!

Tate and Sarah were so much fun. I loved staying in the same room as them. Sarah would put Tater to sleep and then she and I would talk until around 11:15 p.m.

I do not know of two more amazing people! I love my parents dearly. They are not just amazing parents, but I look up to them and admire them for all that they do and how they live their lives! Thank you for such a wonderful trip and amazing memories!

Hunter, Sydney, Austin and Rachel loved sitting in the bow of the boat to feel the wind in their hair! Sydney and Hunter wanted to go swimming every time the boat stopped.

Mitchell, Jonathan and Tanner had a blast on the Molecule! Jonathan was so awesome! Many times Jonathan had his arm around the boy on the outside of the wake in order to help them stay on the Mollie when it looked like they might get dumped. Or was it so he had a better grip to stay on himself?!?

Mitchell and Tanner were the first brave souls to let Grandpa Tate have free reign on s-turns and donuts. They got dumped a few times and got right back on for more! They are soooo cool!

Wow! Austin had fun skiing! I think he was a little nervous but he got out there and went for it! He loved swimming and riding the Molecule!

I can not believe how brave Mitchell was on this trip. Rachel wanted to go cliff jumping and Mitchell looked at me and said, "Mom, can I go?" I did not even have to ask him if he wanted to. He also loved the S-turns and donuts on the Molecule!

It was so much fun to have Tanner come with us! Even when he had a hard crash and hurt his leg on the Mollie he was tough and got back out there shortly after! He was so helpful and thoughtful. What a delight he is!

A Day at the Tate Pool!

Lincoln and Sally had so much fun in the water. Tate was a little nervous and Abbie did not want to get out. It was so relaxing in the cool water.

I can't believe how much Mitchell is growing up. He is finishing up the 5th grade. I am too young to have a 6th grader!!! Or is it that he is just growing up too fast?!?

Austin is finishing up the 3rd grade. He has learned to do a back flip on the tramp and off of the diving board. Sarah got him to do a one-and-a-half front flip off the diving board on this day!

Abbie and Ivory!!!

Abbie and Ivory Taylor are best friends! They love to play together and I never have to break up fights. They love to play tea party and princess.

They both have a fasination with shoes. Abbie's shoe drawer is emptied and then they both start putting on all of her shoes. I love how they get along so well.

Ivory's mom just had a baby boy two weeks ago. Before she had the baby Ivory would come to our house during doctor appointments and so she could just relax for a while. Now I try to have Ivory over at least three days a week for a couple of hours. It really makes it easier having Ivory over to play with Abbie. They entertain eachother!

Their favorite things are having a tea party with goldfish, drawing, singing, dancing and helping Sadie when she is crying.

Ivory will turn 2 on July 7 and Abbie will turn 3 on December 31. Because of this Abbie's last day in the younger nursery was yesterday. They loved playing together there and it made it so much easier getting Abbie to go to nursery. Now Abbie has to go to the older nursery and Ivory is still in the younger nursery.
